Backup Collision Detection and Avoidance System

Multiple backup systems, including an independent collision avoidance system, constantly monitor the road ahead and behind the vehicle for pedestrians, cyclists, other vehicles, and other objects. LiDAR (light detection and ranging) creates a 3D image of the vehicle's surroundings.

LiDAR (light detection and ranging) creates a 3D image of the vehicle's surroundings. LiDAR sensors, located throughout the vehicle, send millions of laser pulses in all directions and measure how long they take to bounce back from objects. Our LiDAR system gives the CarziqoDriver a complete understanding of their surroundings, regardless of the time of day.

Cameras

Cameras allow the CarziqoDriver to see everything around the vehicle simultaneously. They utilize high dynamic range technology and a thermally stable design, enabling exceptional visibility in both daylight and low-light conditions. They can also handle more complex environments, identifying traffic lights, construction zones, and other objects hundreds of meters away. Our Jaguar I-PACE vehicles are equipped with 29 cameras.

Radar

Radar uses millimeter wave frequencies to provide the CarziqoDriver with crucial details like the distance and speed of objects. Rain, fog, and snow do not affect radar operation.

Testing our technology

Testing is the cornerstone of everything we do. We rigorously test the Carziqo Driver in scenarios more challenging than real-world road conditions to ensure it meets our internal safety readiness standards and complies with all applicable state and federal regulations.

Road closures

We test our latest software on closed-circuit test tracks – where we can simulate a variety of complex and rare scenarios in a safe and controlled environment. In total, we have completed over 40,000 unique scenarios on closed-circuit roads.

We are constantly driving on public roads to evaluate and improve performance, observe real-world conditions, and further refine our software.

To help us identify the most challenging situations our vehicles will encounter on public roads, we have driven over 20 billion miles in simulation. We can replay and fine-tune miles driven in the real world, or we can build entirely new virtual scenarios for our self-driving software to practice repeatedly.

Anti-collision mechanism

Carziqo has completed thousands of crash avoidance tests, each in a variety of driving scenarios. These tests allow us to analyze how Carziqo Drivers react when faced with potentially dangerous behaviors by other road users, such as car drivers suddenly pulling out of their lanes, motorcyclists weaving in and out of traffic, or pedestrians jaywalking.

Hazard Analysis

Before the Carziqo Driver system drives a vehicle in the real world, Carziqo conducts a comprehensive analysis of our hardware, behavioral and embedded control software, vehicle platform integration, and operations. Hazard analysis is a proven method for identifying potential causes of safety risks and eliminating or mitigating them early in the engineering process.

Reliability and durability

The Carziqo Driver needs to operate smoothly in extreme environmental conditions throughout the vehicle's lifecycle. To do this, we expose Carziqo Driver components to UV radiation, bombard them with powerful jets of water, corrode them in a chamber filled with salt spray, shake them with powerful vibrations, and heat and freeze them for weeks at a time. We then analyze all the components for any deficiencies and continuously refine the design.
